Favorite Quotes and Excerpts from the Book "Women of Virtue"

Marilyn Monroe once said, “In Hollywood a girl’s virtue is much less important than her hairdo. You’re judged by how you look, not by what you are.” I’m afraid that is a sad sentiment but a genuine reflection of the “red carpet” world in which we live. To the world, the beauty of virtue seems to be vanishing. “One would truly need a great and spacious makeup kit to compete with beauty as portrayed in the media all around us.” But the truth of the matter is hairdos and makeup kits can never replicate true beauty; because true beauty isn’t skin deep. It’s soul deep. Beauty is as deep as the whole soul itself. True beauty is found in virtue.
What makes a woman beautiful? It is her soul. Her character. Her substance. Her divine nature. “For [the world] looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).
